Changing a Person's F1 ID #
Why Change Someone's F1 ID #?
If you're noticing someone's information isn't being updated in F1 or in GroupVitals or is getting reverted after the nightly F1 sync, then the problem might be that GroupVitals is syncing the wrong F1 ID #.
Sometimes a person's F1 ID # in GroupVitals does not match up with their correct F1 ID # or they were not assigned an F1 ID #. This can happen because:
Duplicates: The person is in GroupVitals and/F1 more than once and the correct profile in F1 isn't syncing with the correct profile in GroupVitals.
Incorrect Merges: When merging duplicates in F1 (and then merge in GroupVitals after), the profile that was kept as the main profile in F1 isn't matching the F1 ID # of the profile that was kept in GroupVitals.
Empty F1 ID #: Sometimes someone can end up with an empty F1 ID # if they are added in GroupVitals but due to some error, they were not sent to F1 properly, so their information isn't syncing with F1.
How to Change Someone's F1 ID #
⚠️ Only account admins are able to change someone's F1 ID #
If you determined GroupVitals is syncing the wrong F1 ID # for someone, then here are steps on how to correct this by updating or adding someone's F1 ID # in their GroupVitals profile.
Before making any changes, we strongly recommend that you verify the F1 ID #'s to match as well as their F1 Household ID #. See the instructions below. Once you change someone's F1 ID #, GroupVitals will immediately sync with the newly correct F1 ID # and update their personal information in GroupVitals.
Step 1. Verify the F1 ID # is incorrect in GroupVitals by going to the person's profile in GroupVitals. On the left sidebar, click on the F1 ID # listed to view their profile in F1. The result should either be an Error Not Found page from F1 or it will take you to the F1 profile of a different, incorrect person.
Step 2: Get the correct F1 ID # by going to your F1 portal and navigate to the correct person's F1 profile. In the URL of their profile you'll see a string of numbers around 8 digits long. Copy just the numbers. In the example below, the F1 ID # would be 50392823:
https://portal.fellowshipone.com/bridge/people/50392823/details
Step 3. Go to edit the F1 ID # in GroupVitals by going to the Edit tab of their GroupVitals profile, click on the Change F1 ID # button under the Attributes section. This button is only available to account admins.
Step 4. Add in their new F1 ID # by pasting in the numbers (their F1 ID #) from the previous step into the "New F1 ID #" field in their GroupVitals profile and click the Validate button. GroupVitals will then talk to F1 and get the Household ID # for the person's F1 ID # you just inputted.
Step 5. Review their F1 Household ID # that appears below the new F1 ID # field and confirm that it's the correct Household ID # that's in F1. If it's not, then you either entered the wrong F1 ID # or the person's may be in the wrong Household in F1.
Step 6. Check to confirm that you've read this page and you're confident in your change.
Step 7: Saving changes by clicking the Update F1 ID # button. ⚠️When you click save, GroupVitals will immediately update their profile based upon the information in their newly connected and correct F1 ID #. This includes: name, email, phone #s, address, gender, relationship status, spouse, children and D.O.B.
Step 8: Add the correct F1 record to groups in F1. If the person you just changed the F1 ID # for is in a group as a member and/or leader, you'll notice that they stayed in their group(s) in GroupVitals. However, the record that was the incorrect F1 ID # may still be in the group(s) in F1 and the record you just updated will not be, assuming you kept both records in F1 when you made this F1 ID # change. Right now, you'll need to go to F1 and add the correct record to the correct group(s). Long term, we're working on a solution to try and do this for you automatically.
If there is still a duplicate for a person you just changed the F1 ID # for, then you'll either want to archive them in GroupVitals or merge them into the profile you just changed the F1 ID # for - in F1 and in GroupVitals.
