CCB: Group Types
We sync groups with CCB based upon the CCB Group Type you add to the CCB Add-On settings.
All groups with those group types will sync over to GV and will continue to sync their updates made in GV over to CCB.
If you'd like to add an additional CCB Group Type to sync with GroupVitals, here's what you need to know:
If you haven't setup the CCB integration yet:
We recommend that you create specific CCB group types to sync with GV to keep things more organized. However, you can use any existing CCB group type to sync with GV.
A common CCB Group Type name to create for syncing with GV would be "GroupVitals" or "GroupVitals Groups."
We offer an option to assign a specific CCB Group Type to groups that you archive (delete) in GV. You can use any existing CCB Group Type or create a new one. We recommend that you create a new specific CCB Group Type for archived groups from GV. E.g, "Archived from GroupVitals."
To create a CCB group type, you'll need to add a custom "pulldown menu" under groups. Learn more about that from CCB.
During the CCB and GV sync setup, you'll be presented with a list of your CCB Group Types to sync with CCB.
If you have setup the CCB integration yet:
When you add a new Group Type in CCB, it will take GroupVitals 24 hours (until it's next nightly sync) to discover the new group type and make it available as a group type to sync. Here are the instructions for this:
1. Create a new group type in CCB.
2. Wait for your next nightly sync between CCB and GroupVitals. This happens every 24 hours, late at night.
3. The next morning, login to GroupVitals and go to Settings > Add-Ons > CCB > Settings. In the CCB Group Type selection box, click inside it and select the new CCB Group Type you created from the list of CCB Group Types.
