How to Set a Group as Closed to New Members

Closing a group means that it's no longer open to new members. 

Closed groups is an optional setting an admin can enable in Settings > Groups

When a group is closed:

  • It's not shown on the public GroupFinder
  • People cannot request to join or be placed into the group by anyone (you'll have to open it first)

How to close a group:

  1. Make sure your account has the "closed groups" setting enabled.
  2. Navigate to the group's profile > edit group tab
  3. In the "Status" section, toggle off "Open Status"
  4. Click save changes at the bottom
