Learn about all the positions within a group

Here are the 6 possible positions someone can have within a group.

To change someone's position in a group, click on the drop-down arrow next to their name on the group roster, click Change Position, then select their new position from the drop-down and hit Save.

6 Group Positions:

1. Guest

Someone is a guest when they are added via the group attendance form.

2. Prospect

Various ways someone can become a prospect:

- When they filled out the interest up form for this group on the public GroupFinder.

- When a staff member, group leader or admin manually adds that person to the group and the setting is turned on for "Group leader or admin must accept new group member." In this case, a staff member, group leader or admin can then approve a new prospect to be in the group and when that happens, the prospect becomes a member.

3. Member

A regular attendee of the group. This is the most common role.

FYI - Members do not have access to GroupVitals.

4. Admin

A group admin has the same privileges as a group leader. This is a great position for a leader to create, as it's a best practice for a group leader to delegate responsibilities. A group admin can take attendance, manage the roster, edit the group settings and email the group.

5. Apprentice leader

An apprentice leader is someone who is in training to possibly lead their own group one day. You can track who these people are  by selecting them to be an apprentice. An apprentice will have the same privileges as a group leader.

6. Group Leader

This person leads the group and has access to manage the roster, edit the group's profile, take attendance and email the group.

More than one person can be a group leader.
