Learn the difference between an "Open" and "Closed" group.

Open Groups

If a group is open, then anyone can join the group and they group will be appear on the GroupFinder (if the GroupFinder is turned on).

Closed groups

People cannot request to join or be placed into the group by anyone. If you need to add a person to a closed group, re-open the group, add the person, then close it again.
